Admissions Process

Application information and forms are mailed to all current and interested families after Thanksgiving for the next school year. Applications are processed as they are returned with members of Washington Hebrew Congregation receiving priority consideration within a designated registration period.

A non-refundable, non-transferable application fee and a tuition deposit are required with your application to our schools.

Applicants to our WHC Primary School program, not currently enrolled in our preschools, will be scheduled for an observation at their current school and an on-site screening administered by our staff. In addition to completing the application for enrollment, each applicant must submit a confidential student recommendation form completed by the child’s current teacher. In considering children for acceptance in the Primary School, we look at the whole child, not just academic performance. Our goal is to ensure an appropriate fit for your child.

Families will be notified by mail during the first quarter of 2008 regarding their child's acceptance or wait list status.

Age Requirements

To enroll in our programs for the 2008-2009 school year, children must meet the following minimum age requirements:

Transitional Twos/Mid Year Twos — must turn two between September 2, 2008 and December 31, 2008

Twos — must turn two by September 1, 2008

Threes — must turn three by September 1, 2008

Fours — must turn four by September 1, 2008

Gesher — must have completed a four-year-old preschool program

Kindergarten — must turn five by September 1, 2008
